NOLA Prays for Leonel Melendez's Recovery
On June 12, 2016, our nation was shocked by yet another tragedy. 49 amazing lives were taken, but there are still many victims in the hospital. It's hard to not take this attack personal, but it gets more personal for the family and friends of the victims. One of my best friends comes from the most loving, kind, and welcoming family in New Orleans. Being her friend is like being part of her family. Realizing how small this world really is, I was disheartened to hear that her cousin, Leonel Melendez, was at Pulse on that night. They waited many hours to find out he is in a coma in an Orlando hospital. It's a blessing and relief that he is alive, but this is just the start of a long journey for them. Lots of encouraging words and prayers will be needed!
