8 Music Festival Dos and Don'ts

Summer festival season is upon us, and it is HOT. Classic and new artists alike take the stage to show festival-goers a good time. It takes a lot of prep before seeing all of your favorite artists compacted into a three day weekend. Here is a list of dos and don'ts to make your experience the most epic it can be!

DO:

1. HYDRATE

Pack yourself a water bottle, so you aren't spending $4 on water each time. You need that money for FOOD! Nom nom nom...

2. PLAN YOUR DAY

You and your friends should discuss who everyone wants to see before the day starts. This way less people will get lost, and you can figure out who will go to each show with you. If you want to sway to Florence + the Machine but your bestie wants to rage to Flosstradamus, it is time for rock, paper, scissors my friends. Or a mature compromise...yeah right.

3. SEE YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST FRONT ROW

There is not greater experience than being in the crowd for your favorite performer. Take the extra time to get there early for a great spot. It will be worth it!

4. RELAX IN THE BACK OF A SHOW

Festivals are exhausting if you run around all day trying to see everyone. Take time to relax by laying out a blanket and listening to a chill band.

5. DRESS UP TO THE OCCASION

Personally, I love wearing a costume of some sort. There is no better way to go out of your comfort zone and feel free. If I don't wear a costume, I shop for a simple outfit and drown myself in accesories. It's all about the natural materials like stones, leathers, and metals!

6. HAVE A PARTNER IN CRIME

Never leave your friend because the odds of you getting lost is very high. Who wants to experience the festival alone anyway? The buddy system has always deemed faithful. Unfortunately, that means our parents were right all of these years. Damn, the older I get the more they seemed right all along.

7. TAKE AMAZING PHOTOS

But not too many! You go to a festival for the experience, not to let everyone on Snapchat know you're there. Take some time to snap some cool pictures with your group. If only our grandparents had pictures from Woodstock...

DONT:

1. LET ANYONE TELL YOU HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE

I can sit here and write a list of things you probably shouldn't do, but would you really listen to me? I hope not. Festivals are the perfect time to do whatever you want and not be judged. #judgeme #idc
